Making sure you are housed or supported into transitional, or permanent housing is one of our key priorities.
We understand there are complex and diverse reasons why you may need support when it comes to housing. We know that it can be somewhat difficult to advocate for yourself. You may have had a bad experience with finding accommodation, you may lack confidence, or you may not know how to navigate the system or who to talk to in order to get a positive outcome.
If you feel you are ready to engage with us and take steps towards finding a permanent home in the community, you can arrange a referral to us through the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) housing team.
We currently operate transitional housing at four sites.
- Te Pā Manawa Britannia House in Petone
- Te Pā Pori on Tory Street St
- Te Pā Maru on Taranaki St
- Grace Wing at Kemp Resthome in Tītahi Bay
Our transitional housing not only provides you with shelter. Our kaimahi (staff) will help you get back on your feet, and support you to achieving positive outcomes. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with our other manuhiri (guests) and the wider community in preparation for your transition into permanent housing.
